Cynthia and I were in a restaurant in Norfolk, VA that was running a video about Camp Sunshine. Here is the description of Camp Sunshine from their website:
“Nestled alongside the shores of beautiful Sebago Lake, Camp Sunshine provides respite, support, joy and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses and their immediate families through various stages of a child's illness. The year-round program is free of charge to all families, and includes 24-hour onsite medical and psychosocial support. Bereavement groups are also offered for families who have lost a child to an illness.”
We were so moved by the video and what we've learned about Camp Sunshine since then. And we feel so fortunate that our son Eric is healthy and strong. We knew we wanted to do something to help out Camp Sunshine and all the families who benefit from their services.
So I'm excited to announce that some of the profits from every copy of Sunny Side Up sold will go to benefit Camp Sunshine. They told me that it costs $1500 for one family to attend a session of camp so we are going to do what we can to help as many folks as possible enjoy Camp Sunshine!
